What You Need to Know to Register DEWA Account

The official company responsible for providing water and electricity in the Emirate is Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). Activating water and power services through your DEWA account is one of the first things you should do when moving to a new property in Dubai. The process of opening a DEWA account is simplified for users and can be done in a number of ways.
WAYS TO OPEN A NEW DEWA ACCOUNT (MOVE-IN) IN DUBAI
DEWA account registration is available in two ways.
Simply follow these steps to create a DEWA account online:
- Go to DEWA’s official website
- Log in and choose the category labeled “Consumer.”
- Choose the appropriate option: UAE Pass or DEWA ID.
- Proceed to “Create an Account” if you do not have a DEWA ID.
- After entering your account number or business partner number, select “Register.”
- Proceed to submit after entering the verification code you were sent by SMS or email.
- You can now create a username and password.
- After selecting “Create an Account,” you must accept the terms and conditions.
- DEWA has created your online account.
REQUEST FOR ELECTRICITY AND WATER ACTIVATION (MOVE-IN)

For a newly established property, this service activates the water and electricity. You have two options for applying if you are a new customer or new to Dubai:
OPTION A: VIA THE REAL ESTATE REGULATORY AGENCY (RERA)
Real estate projects may be registered with the help of RERA, a government organization dedicated to real estate. In Dubai, the Ejari contracts are issued by RERA. A welcome email from DEWA will be automatically sent to you when you receive your Ejari. It will contain the DEWA contract account number and a link to pay the security deposit.
OPTION B: VIA the DEWA website or smart app
You can utilize the DEWA smart app with ease once you have the tenancy contract or Ejari. (iOS|Android).
APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR WATER ACTIVATION AND ELECTRICITY

You will require the following in order to apply for move-in electricity and water activation:
- If you are the landlord, a title deed
- If you are a tenant, your Ejari number.
If you are a new customer or new to Dubai, take the following actions:
- Visit DEWA’s official website by clicking here.
- Choose “Supply Management” under the “Consumer” category from the menu.
- Choose the water and electricity activation (move-in)
- Choose the “New in Dubai” option after reading the information.
- Select the relevant category and complete the provided form.
- Attach the necessary files.
- Create a password and username for the DEWA account now.
- Click “Continue” after accepting the terms and conditions.
- Verify your payment information and click “Continue.”
- You have now submitted your request to activate your DEWA water and electricity.
- In fifteen hours, the connection will be established.
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS to Register DEWA Account
In order to open a new DEWA account in Dubai, you will need the following documents, if applicable:
- A valid title deed must be provided by property owners.
- Emirates ID is required for Dubai residents.
- Trade Permit (available to commercial and industrial clients)
- For investors and GCC nationals, a copy of their passport is necessary.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
2,000 AED security deposit for an apartment in Dubai (residential premises)
Security deposit of AED 4,000 for a Dubai villa (residential premises)
CHARGES FOR Action

- Water and power connections cost AED 100 (small meters).
- Water and electricity meter connections cost AED 300 (large meters).
- The registration fee is AED 10.
- The amount for knowledge is AED 10.
- The innovation fee is AED 10
- VAT, if applicable
ACTIVATION OF SERVICE
The water and electricity supplies will be turned on for you within 15 hours of the security deposit being received.
